I believe every woman, man and child has infinite value and worth. Whether we have experienced feelings of worthlessness because of our own actions or because of the actions of others, developing self-love is the pathway toward true joy. When we experience trauma, we develop false ideas about ourselves and the world that keep us in a place of fear, anger, and hopelessness. We make decisions based on those beliefs that cause ourselves and others despair. When we learn to love ourselves completely, we can find true healing within ourselves and the world in a deeply powerful way.

I enjoy working with people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues and trauma. My specialties include supporting those who struggle with a lack of self-love, loss, or who are dealing with an immense amount of shame and guilt. I also specialize in helping children and teens with Selective Mutism find their brave voices. I'm trained in treating those who deal with suicidal thoughts, trauma and abuse, codependency, and self-harming behaviors. I'm a certified rape counselor through Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault. Teens and their parents are one of my favorite populations to work with. I am trained in treating Selective Mutism.

Professional Background

I am a licensed clinical social worker who operates a private practice located in Layton, Utah. My specialities include working with teens and adults suffering with trauma, mood disorders, and anxiety related conditions including OCD and Selective Mutism. Heidi is certified in PCIT-SM and is trained in EMDR, DBT and trauma focused CBT. I am a certified rape counselor. My work experience includes outpatient mental health, crisis intervention in a ER and rape crisis/DV clinic, and school social work working with at risk populations.
